Two Crashes, One Fatality on LA 93 In Scott

Two crashes happened on La. 93 in Scott on Tuesday. One death is being reported in the first crash.

A Scott Fire Department truck crashed with a car near Wyman Road while responding to a fatal crash in front of Romero's Grocery. In the first crash, Trooper Brooks David says 74-year-old Joseph E. Faul of Scott ran a stop sign in his Dodge Caravan and was hit by a truck driven by 60-year-old Douglas J. Bourque of Church Point. Faul was not wearing a seat belt and later died from his injuries; Bourque was buckled up and suffered minor injuries.

Officers continue to investigate the first crash as impairment is suspected to be a factor.
