21 Savage was feeling a little charitable today (Jan. 13) and dropped “Pause,” a rare collaborative song with hitmaker Metro Boomin.

How rare is it? According to Genius, the Atlanta rhymer previewed the song on his Instagram page back in October 2015. Many fans thought “Pause” won’t appear on their collaborative LP Savage Mode, but that wasn’t the case. A mysterious hacking group reportedly leaked the song online.

If anything, the song offers a glimpse into the dynamic duo’s early musical friendship. Over Boomin's menacing piano keys and bass-heavy beat, 21 Savage spits both luxurious and nihilistic lyrics to his haters.

"I just spent 15 hundred on a belt (belt) / 15 hundred on my main bitch hair (21) / Yeah I'm real right, I took a oath not to tell / If you try the gang, we gonna shoot you like Adele (pop-pop-pop)," he raps, adding, "I be on syrup like I cough / Young Metro know that he hot, sauce / Wanna see me, then it's gonna cost / Went from the projects to a loft."

But we must give a side-eye to 21 Savage’s usage of a black-and-white Martin Luther King, Jr. photo with a photoshopped knife tattoo on his head. C’mon bruh.

Savage is certainly on a wave right now. The 25-year-old artist is featured on the hottest rap song in the country -- Post Malone's "Rockstar." Savage also appears on Cardi B's latest single, "Bartier Cardi," and he's bubbling on radio with "Bank Account."
