26th World Championship Gumbo Cook Off in New Iberia Oct 9 -11 [VIDEO]

The aroma of delicious Cajun food will be wafting along Bayou Teche in downtown New Iberia on October 9 - 11 for the 26th annual World Championship Gumbo Cook Off. This 3 day family friendly festival is a celebration of everything we love about fall - great cajun cuisine and music in a setting along beautiful Bayou Teche.

Festivities kick off Friday, Oct 9 with family movie night under the Pavilion. Saturday brings  the 'Cajun Creole Foodfest' and Youth Gumbo Cook Off. Music will be provided by Chubby Carrier, Steve Riley & the Bayou Swamp Band, The Revelers, and Pine Leaf Boys.

On Sunday, the Gumbo Cook Off begins, with over 100 teams, both professional and amateur, competing. Tickets are available for purchase to taste as much of the delicious gumbo as your heart desires! Music on Sunday is by Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie, and Roddie Romero and the Hub City All Stars. Come celebrate our Cajun Culture with some great food, great music, and lots of fun, sha!
