If you’ve been impatiently waiting for 50 Cent’s new album to drop, he feels your pain. In fact, as he demonstrated during a recent Twitter rant, he’s ready to give up on his longtime label, Interscope — and maybe quit making records altogether.

50′s outburst was triggered by Interscope’s decision to delay the long-in-the-works project, which he’s been tinkering with for over a year. “Man I’m not releasing [an] album I can’t believe interscope is this f—– up right now. I apologize to all my fans,” he wrote. He added, “I will work with other artist on there [sic] projects but I will not put out another album. They dropped the ball with me one time [too] many.”

In Interscope’s defense, 50 has often seemed unclear as to his own plans for the album, which was originally titled ‘Black Magic’ and was, at one point, supposed to encompass a wide variety of hip-hop and R&B styles. The sessions for the project, which have gone on for months, have utilized a long list of collaborators and producers, including Eminem, Dr. Dre, David Guetta, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and Busta Rhymes.

Mr. Cent also expressed displeasure at the recent leak of his new song ‘I’m On It.’ “I don’t know how I can record 41 song[s] for my album and the one song I give Interscope leaks,” he observed. “But I don’t care it’s good music. I hate when I can’t present my music the way I feel it should be.”

Not one to turn away free publicity, he quickly added, “But f****** it check out I’m ON IT.”

50 fans probably shouldn’t get too upset about his “no more albums” announcement — he’s made grand claims before, most notably when he said he’d retire if Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ outsold his ‘Curtis Jackson’ during their first week of release — and we all know how that turned out.
