Following news of a shooting at a T.I. show at Irving Plaza in New York Wednesday night (May 25) came word that Troy Ave had been shot in the leg. The shooting occurred backstage in the third floor green room area, with Troy taken to the hospital shortly after. 50 Cent visited the Brooklyn rapper at Bellevue Hospital early Thursday morning.

NYPD Chief Aubry confirmed that at least one person has died as a result of the shooting, with an additional three injured, Troy among them. T.I. had not yet performed at the time of the shooting. According to CBS New York, as of midnight Thursday morning, no one had been arrested, but Aubry said that police have recovered ballistic evidence and the crime scene search continued early Thursday.

PIX11 News reported that 50 was at Bellevue to visit a friend's girlfriend, quoting the rapper as saying, “I’m here to support my friend, his girl was shot. What’s happened here is not good." 50 was also visiting Troy.

We will continue to update this story as news develops. At the time of publication, neither 50 nor Troy had posted anything to social media relating to the incident. T.I. likewise has yet to offer any official statement, though it can be understood that all parties are troubled and saddened by the turn of events that took place.
