UPDATED 9AM Road Closure Statement From Dept. Of Transportation

Note: Changes are occurring rapidly.  As temperatures moderate some of these closures may change by the time you read this update.  We will attempt to update this list as quickly as we receive word from DOTD and LA State Police.

The LA Dept. of Transportation has just issued a statement regarding road closures in Louisiana.  DOTD urges everyone to remain off the roads until temperature remain above freezing for an extended period of time.

For the City of Lafayette there is good news in that only the Surrey Street bridge and Camellia Bridge remain closed at this time according to Lafayette City Police.

Iberia Parish:

·        US 90 near Darnall Rd.

 West Baton Rouge Parish:

·        LA 1 at the Intracoastal Canal Bridge

 St. Tammany Parish:

·        US 11 Bridge across Lake Pontchartrain

St. Martin Parish:

·         I-10 Atchafalaya Basin Bridge

                                Westbound:       Closed from Ramah to Henderson

                                Eastbound:         Closed from Louisiana Avenue to Ramah

Lafayette Parish:      

·         I -49 from Pont des Mouton to La 29 (Milepost 1 to 40)

Iberia Parish:

·         All US 90 overpass in Iberia Parish 

                Lewis St. Bridge over Bayou Teche in New Iberia

St. Landry Parish:

• I-49 North and South is closed from Pont des Mouton (Mile Marker 1) to LA 29 (Mile Marker 40).  Operations to reopen I-49 from US 190 to LA 29 is underway as of 7 AM.  Remaining portion should be reopened within the next 3-4 hours.

St. Mary Parish:

·         Greenwood Overpass on LA 182.

·         US 90 and LA 182 in Amelia

Allen Parish:

• All bridges in Allen Parish
• US 165 at Kinder

Acadia Parish:

• The John N. John overpass (US 90) in Crowley
• LA 97 at the Jeanie Bridge
• I-10 East from Mile Marker 68 to Mile Marker 70

Jefferson Davis Parish:

• All bridges in Jefferson Davis Parish

• LA 10 from US 61 in West Feliciana Parish to LA 10 Business in Pointe Coupee Parish.  This closure includes the John James Audubon Bridge.

Pointe Coupee Parish:

• LA 10 from LA 10  Business in Pointe Coupee Parish to US 61 in West Feliciana Parish.  This closure includes the John James Audubon Bridge.

Livingston Parish:

St. James Parish:
