December 15, 2012 We don't have to tell you that yesterday's news of the Connecticut school shooting put a damper on the week, the holiday season and humanity as a whole. Our hearts are still heavy, but even in the wake of tragedy we shouldn't give up on humanity.

A Lafayette woman has gone missing, and now her family and friends are asking for your help in finding her. Mickey Shunick, 21, of Lafayette went missing Saturday night as she was believed to be returning home on a bicycle. Shunick left a friend's house in the Saint Streets area around 2am on Saturday morning, but never returned home near the Ambassador and Congress St. area.
