A dramatic video surfaced over the weekend that shows several acrobats falling nearly 40-feet as they were suspended above the ground at a Rhode Island circus.

The accident was reported about 45 minutes into the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus show at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Eight women were performing the stunt when the apparatus they were attached to snapped from the trussing rig in the arena.

The eight performers, including one dancer below them, were injured in the accident and were all rushed to a nearby hospital. Reports out indicate that one performers was in critical condition at the medical facility, but expected to get through the injuries.

Future shows were cancelled over the weekend, but the show on Monday will go on, without any aerial stunts though.

Investigators have yet to determine what may have caused the accident, but an investigation is already underway.
