A search is currently underway for a 2-year-old boy was reportedly dragged into a lake by an alligator near a Disney resort in Orlando, Florida.

UPDATE:  According to CNN, the boy’s body was found in tact around 1:45 p.m today by sheriff’s divers. The toddler has been identified as Lane Graves, the 2-year-old son of Matt and Melissa Graves of Elk Horn, Nebraska.

According to ABC News, the Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the child was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon around 9:30 p.m. near Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The child's family is said to be visiting from Nebraska and was "relaxing near the shoreline" when the boy was attacked. The boy's father reportedly entered the water and attempted to grab his son from the gator but was not successful.

Notices against swimming in the man-made lagoon are posted around the water.

Jacquee Walker, Vice President of Walt Disney World Resort released this statement:

Everyone here at the Walt Disney World Resort is devastated by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with the family. We are helping the family and doing everything we can to assist law enforcement.

People tweeting about the incident claim the child was on the beach during "movie night" when the child was pulled into the water. Crews have been searching since last night.
