Senior Andre Nunez will be the starting quarterback when the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns take the field on Saturday against Grambling State.

Head coach Billy Napier made the announcement after Wednesday's practice and was reported by Tim Buckley on theadvertiser.com.

Napier said at his press conference Monday that both Nunez and sophomore Levi Lewis would play and had them listed as co-starters on the depth chart released at that time.

According to Buckley's report:

"Nunez will be the first quarterback to run out there, and certainly he'll get to play for a while," Napier said. "But, you know, I think everybody on our football team, our staff, they believe in both young men.

"Certainly Levi deserves to play. I think he's got the respect of his teammates. He's an exceptional leader on our football team. He has the ability to affect others."

Napier did not divulge how much playing time either would get, or when Lewis would be inserted into the game.
