Ashanti is breathing a sigh of relief now that her overzealous stalker is going to prison. On Friday (March 18), a jury in New York found Devar Hurd guilty of stalking the R&B songstress.

According to TMZ, the 37-year-old delusional man, delivered his closing arguments on Thursday (March 17) telling the jury that sending raunchy material to the singer is not a crime and excessive tweeting is not stalking. He also added that if Ashanti wanted to avoid him on social media all she had to do was hit “block.”

The jury saw past that bulls--- and found him guilty on 2nd degree stalking. Hurd has been in jail since his arrest in 2013 for stalking and now he faces additional one to four years in prison.

As we previously reported, Hurd, who acted as his own attorney, cross-examined Ashanti on Wednesday (March 16) where he grilled her on his sexually-explicit e-mails he would send to her. During her testimony, the “Foolish” singer begged Hurd to simply leave her alone.

“You continuously tweeted over and over again disgusting, derogatory, disrespectful things to me after you had already gone to jail for doing the same thing,” she testified.

“I wish you to stop,” she added. “I just wish you to stop.”

After the verdict, Ashanti went on Twitter to share her jubilation with her true fans.

"First and foremost thank you God," she tweeted. "And thank you guys for all of your love, support and prayers! Verdict is in. #Guilty"

Hurd is expected to be sentenced on March 31.

We are glad that Ashanti can rest easy and not have to worry about this guy stalking her again.
