Alcohol and Tobacco Control Commissioner Troy Hebert has given the owner of Lafayette live music hot spot, Artmosphere, a six-month break on an audit to determine if the establishment was being run according to state regulations.

Our news partner, KATC, reported Hebert responded to the Lafayette City-Parish Council's request to delay the food sales audit that was originally scheduled for October.

The bar, located within Lafaeyette's Central Business District, is mandated to sell food accounting to 51 percent of its total sales, unless city officials grant a request to rezone the facility.

Hebert told KATC, he would issue the bar license if the city changes its restrictions and allows it to operate as a bar in the district that now prohibits new bars from opening downtown.
