San Francisco and Pittsburgh easily won their respective Monday Night Football games last night. Here’s a recap of the action:

San Francisco 28, Los Angeles 0

Carlos Hyde ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns, and the San Francisco 49ers shut out the Los Angeles Rams, 28-0, in Santa Clara, Calif. on Monday. The Niners’ defense held Los Angeles to just 186 total yards of offense on the game.

San Francisco (1-0) kept Rams’ star running back Todd Gurley to 47 yards rushing on 17 carries, and forced quarterback Case Keenum into a dreadful 17-for-35 passing night for just 130 yards, with two interceptions and two sacks.

Los Angeles (0-1) had just 10 first downs on the game.

Blaine Gabbert threw for 170 yards and a score for the 49ers. San Francisco backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick once again knelt in silent protest of social issues during the national anthem prior to the game. He played briefly on the game's final series.

Washington (0-1) led 6-0 after one quarter, but the Steelers surged ahead 14-6 by halftime and never relinquished the lead. Pittsburgh won without suspended running back Le'Veon Bell and wide receiver Martavis Bryant, each missing for violations of the league’s substance abuse policies.

Roethlisberger completed 27 of 37 passes including two touchdowns to wide receiver Antonio Brown. The Steelers’ All-Pro bested Redskins cornerbacks Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland for eight catches for 126 yards.

Washington’s Kirk Cousins completed 30 of 43 passes for 329 yards with two interceptions.
