We continue to keep you up to date on the latest on the Port Barre bus crash victims with both Karen Stoute, who passed away yesterday, and Colby Richard who remains in critical condition.

Today on the Facebook Page created for people to show support for Colby Richard we got this update:

After a 5 hour surgery, Colby is in recovery and we are happy to say his legs are fixed up for the most part!! Colby is showing improvment! He is starting on his path of recovering from his reconstructive surgery for his legs on yesterday! He is completely off the ventilator as of now! They have also started wining him off of the sudation, but that will take 3 to 5 days. If you would like to make monatary donations for Colby, y...ou can go to ANY american bank and give money, just say it is for Colby Richard.

Shortly after we received this email with details on a Car Wash benefit this weekend:

Carwash for Colby and Karen, both involved in the school bus accident in Port Barre, LA. It's scheduled for saturday, from 9 to 3 at the First Baptist Church in Port Barre. The address is 853 Saizon Avenue
There will also be a bake sale. $10 for cars, $15 for trucks, vans, and suvs. All proceeds will go to both families.

Rim Pros, who have staff members very close to Mark Stoute, father of Karen Stoute made a Facebook Page today with details on a fundraiser that they were putting together: "Benefit Raffle for Karen Stoute: Show your support"

There will be a benefit fundraiser for the Stoute family going on this week, we will also still be accepting donations in the weeks that follow... Mark has always had a passion for custom trucks and cars, therefore the raffle will be for a set of 18" Rims and Tires for a car or truck... It is $25 per ticket, the drawing will be Friday (Dec. 10) at 6 pm at Rim Pros of Lafayette located @210 Guilbeau Rd. 70503 Lafayette La... Please help us raise some money for a family dealing with the unimaginable...There will also be a multitude of custom cars from many local truck clubs on display on the drawing day, so come on out and show your support.
