Big Feedia, who is best known for her New Orleans 'bounce' music, was supposed to perform in Mississippi Valentine's Day weekend until it got cancelled because of 'gyrating.'

That was when the owner of the Dollar Box showroom in Hattiesburg, Mississippi got a call from the Alcohol Beverage Control. The ABC allegedly threatened with a fine if the concert was to happen.

According to Ben Shemper, the owner of Dollar Box, said that the state would fine him and he could potentially lose his liquor license because it would violate a state statute which prohibits certain sexual conduct at venues where alcohol is served.

Big Freedia took to Facebook with this statement:

Ben Shemper, the owner of Dollar Box told NOLA.com that "the officers would be out in full force and I would be fined. I hated to do it, I cannot risk suspension of my alcohol license so I cancelled it."

Big Freedia took to Twitter saying it felt like the movie 'Footloose' It's more like "Twerkloose!" LOL!!!

There are always two sides to a story.

Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control's chief Rusty Hanna said his office didn't cancel Big Freedia's show. They just made Shemper aware of his duty to observe entertainment regulations that restrict nudity and sexual content and that Shemper canceled it on his own.

Big Freedia being Big Freedia has responded with this on her Facebook:

No word yet if she will perform in Mississippi anytime soon, as she is very busy now.
