Things are sour between the former father and son duo, Birdman and Lil Wayne, but not bad enough to were the Cash Money CEO would want his former protege dead.

According to TMZ, Birdman is finally speaking out to clear up police documents and rumors that he was involved in the April 26 shooting of Weezy’s tour bus in Atlanta.

A source reportedly confirmed to the gossip website that the police documents were right; Birdman did receive a call on April 26 minutes after the shooting from another cellphone registered to him. However, the call reportedly came from someone inside Wayne’s camp who was "anxious" to alert Baby of the incident.

TMZ reports Jimmy Carton Winfrey, Young Thug’s former road manager, was reportedly the man who was kicked out of the club (Wayne and his camp were at) prior to the shooting, but returned and sprayed up Wayne’s tour bus in retaliation. He was later apprehended by the police and was charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threats, possession of a firearm by a felon and criminal gang activity.

However, Birdman is maintaining he had nothing to do with the shooting and has even vowed to help get to the bottom of it. As far as the cellphones both being registered to Birdman it makes sense they were both company phones. Reportedly Wayne’s people, Winfrey and Birdman are all affiliated with Young Money or Cash Money Records in some way.

The bitter dispute, which led Tunechi and Baby's relationship to dissolve began earlier this year. Weezy filed a lawsuit for $51 million against Cash Money on account of the delayed release of his highly anticipated Tha Carter V album. In the interim, Wayne dropped his Free Weezy Album in July on Jay Z's TIDAL streaming service of which he is a co-owner.

On July 17, Birdman slapped TIDAL with a $50 million lawsuit claiming Weezy does not own the rights to any of his music.
