If you're looking to go across the pond for a visit, it's about to get much easier if you live in Louisiana. British Airways representatives joined prominent New Orleans business leaders to announce the new service that is set to begin next March.

The airline will used the 214 passenger Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the route that will be scheduled four days per week. It's the end of a long courtship between business and the airline that began back in 2012. The New Orleans Advocates reports that New Orleans has been without a direct flight to Europe since 1982.

From WBRZ-TV: Flights from New Orleans to London will leave New Orleans at 9:10 p.m. and arrive in London at noon the next day. Returning flights to Louisiana will leave London at 3:40 p.m. and arrive in New Orleans at 7:40 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

One flight is available on the British Airways site and the lowest available fare on the flight is an economy ticket for $1,315. Premium economy sold for $2,401 and Business Class was available for $3,946.
