While the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns wait for their hitters to get untracked, the team must rely on their pitching and defense.

And those two facets of the game came through Sunday night in a 1-0 win over Hofstra in the Tangi Tourism Baseball Classic in Hammond, LA.

Nick Lee and two relievers combined on a two hit shutout as the Cajuns got into the win column for the first time.  And, the Cajuns' defense was flawless for the second straight game.

Lee (1-0) went the first six innings for the Cajuns, allowing two hits and two walks.  He struck out seven in his first outing of the season.

Colton Lee, making his first appearance in over a year, pitched two no hit innings, allowing one walk.  Dylan Moore struck out two of the three batters he faced in earning his 28th career save.

"I'm proud of Colton coming back from his suspension.  He could have left for an NAIA school or a Division II, but he stood up and manned up and that's what this thing is all about."

The Cajuns had seven hits in the contest, with three coming off the bat of senior second baseman Brenn Conrad.  The Cajuns' only run of the game came in the second inning when Tyler Stover singled and scored on Alex Pinero's double to the right center field gap.

Teddy Cillis (0-1) took the loss for the Pride (0-3), throwing five innings, allowing one run on six hits.

The Cajuns are back in action tomorrow night, taking on Southeastern Louisiana in a makeup of Friday's rainout.  Right hander Evan Guillory will get the start for the Cajuns in the 6:00 pm start.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN1420.
