Dex Kjerstad had four hits, including his first home run of the year, to pace a 16-hit attack as Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns won their sixth straight game, defeating Southern University at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field by the score of 11-6.

Kjerstad led off the game with a homer, one of three hit by the Cajuns on the night, tripled to drive in a run and scored in the second, singled and scored in the fifth and singled again in the eighth inning.

Caleb Adams hit his team-leading fifth homer of the year in the second inning and Seth Harrison hit a two run shot, his first in the fourth inning as the Cajuns (17-3) built a 10-0 lead after five innings.

Southern would score three times in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to cut the lead to 10-6.  The Cajuns added an insurance run in the seventh inning.

Kjerstad, Adams, Tyler Girouard, Dylan Butler and Sam Carriere all had multi-hit games for the Cajuns.

Chase Traffica (2-1) went the first two innings in a pre-determined rotation for the Cajuns to get the win as the Cajuns used eight pitchers in the game, their first mid-week game in three weeks.

Marcus Tomlin had two hits for the Jaguars (9-9), who collected just five hits in the game.

The Cajuns now embark on a seven game road trip beginning with a three game Sun Belt Conference series against Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro.  Gametimes for the weekend are 6pm Friday, 4pm Saturday and 1pm Sunday.
