Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team opens up their 2015 regular season schedule on Saturday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth's travels to Lexington, Kentucky to take on the Kentucky Wildcats in a non-conference match-up.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 4 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 5pm.

Kickoff time is set for 6 o’clock.

Louisiana finished 9-4, overall, last season, including a fourth-consecutive win in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, with a 16-3 victory over Nevada, while finishing Sun Belt Conference play with a 7-1 mark.

Kentucky went 5-7 in 2014, the second year under head coach Mark Stoops.

Offensively, the Cajuns averaged 29.4 points, 417.4 yards, 191.5 passing yards, and 225.9 rushing yards per game last season, while the Wildcats averaged 29.2 points, 384.3. total yards, 231.2 passing yards, and 153.2 rushing yards a contest.

Defensively in 2014, Louisiana is allowed 26.0 points, 405.8 total yards, 142.2 rushing yards, and 263.6 passing yards per game, while Kentucky gave up an average of 31.2 points, 406.9 yards of total offense, 191.2 rushing yards, and 215.8 passing yards an outing.

The game will mark the first ever meeting between the two schools.
