R&B crooner Chris Brown has reignited his love affair with Rihanna and his father is not too happy about it.

In an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, Clinton Brown says he's not thrilled that his son is frolicking with the Bajan singer.

"I personally really didn't want him and Rihanna back together," he says.

The 48-year-old patriarch feels that Breezy and RiRi's tumultuous relationship will end in tragedy like previous R&B stars before him. “I hate to use examples, but Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse -- I mean I could go on and on!” he states. "Is that a given -- that you can’t have fortune and fame without [death] being the end result?”

Clinton, who's been estranged from Brown since his was a toddler, concedes why his son (and the world) is interested in the R&B superstar.

"She’s beautiful, she’s exotic, she’s successful," he said. Well, duh.

He also adds: "Sometimes you just need that person who will listen to you without judging, who knows what it feels like. If he talks to someone who’s not in the business they may not understand.”

So if Clinton doesn't see Rihanna as his future daughter-in-law, who does he think is compatible with his son?

“I personally liked Jordin Sparks. She’s a wholesome young lady, very pretty," he says of the 2007 American Idol winner who collaborated with Brown on the Grammy-nominated song, 'No Air.'

But she's also very attached -- to pop crooner Jason Derulo.

Clinton also liked Karrueche Tran, Brown’s ex-girlfriend, who he says made a "great impression" on him. “I liked her a lot. They seemed to get on terrifically,” he said.

In the end, Clinton harbors no ill-will towards Rihanna and hopes the best for his son's relationship with the 'Stay' singer.

"[Rihanna] would make a good mom. I think she would probably have to change some of her antics -- the party attitude would probably have to change," he says. "I don’t think they would just whimsically and spontaneously have a child with them being in this mode. That’s why I don’t see it happening -- but anything’s possible, man.”
