Last January, a Chris Brown show at the Fiesta Nightclub in San Jose, CA ended abruptly when a gunman opened fire and left five concertgoers injured. One of the victims, Paul Briley, is suing Brown and claims that the singer is responsible for the shooting because he attracts violence and he should have had more security with him. In the suit, Briley cites the 2014 pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown where Suge Knight was shot as evidence that danger follows the singer wherever he goes.

According to TMZ, Breezy is fighting back and saying that it's not his fault that Briley was injured at his show. The "Loyal" singer has asked the judge to toss the lawsuit and says it's the club's responsibility to provide security and protect people who enter the building. The report also states that Brown thinks it's unfair to say there have been shootings at his concerts since he was only hosting during the Knight incident, not performing.

When the lawsuit was first made public in Sept. 2015, Brown’s publicist Nicole Perna issued a statement saying, “It is a poor reflection of our society that violence is so prevalent and it is always a tragedy when someone is physically harmed. However, this is a completely frivolous lawsuit. We expect that the case will be dismissed and in the future, to avoid these recurring meritless lawsuits directed at Chris Brown, we plan to seek damages from all parties and their lawyers."

Brown is also being sued over an alleged Las Vegas assault that took place on New Year's Day.
