More than a dozen churches in Lafayette will be combining their usual Wednesday services or meetings into one for a city-wide prayer service tonight to be held at Crossroads Church.

The event is open to the public and will start at 7 o'clock tonight at the church.

Crossroads Church is located at 150 Verona Drive.

This prayer service is designed to complement tomorrow's city-wide healing event being put together by Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Pastor Bobby Richard of Hope Alive Freedom Church says,

"This is a church response with an emphasis on prayer. It is a cross-denominational event where everyone is welcome."

Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Lafayette adds,

"In the Bible and throughout all of history, people have called out to God during times of crisis and tragedy. We believe the need in this hour is for our community to look to God."

Pastor Jacob Aranza of Our Saviour's Church says,

"We hope to see unity in the spiritual community, and for faith to spread."

Pastor Jeff Ables of Crossroads Church invites everyone to tonight's service, and he says anyone in the community is welcome to attend.
