Colin Kaepernick recently spoke to Meek Mill in jail and says that in spite of the circumstances, the rapper is in good spirits.

Kaepernick posted a message on Twitter, telling everyone that Meek wants his fans and supporters to know that he's "humbled by the support the people have shown him."

"Spoke to Meek Mill & he wanted ppl to know regardless of his unjust situation, he’s in good spirits & humbled by the support the people have shown him. We'll continue to fight against the harsh sentencing practices that have affected Meek & millions of other POC for generations," Kaepernick wrote.

Kaepernick, who refused to stand for the national anthem as a way of protesting police violence against black people, has become one of the most notable figures in the continued fight for justice, recently gracing GQ's cover as "Citizen of the Year."

He's the latest in a number of celebrities who have voiced support for Meek Mill, using his harsh two to four year sentence for a probation violation as an example of how the criminal justice system unfairly treats black people. JAY-Z, T.I., Rick Ross, Vic Mensa and even Drake have recently spoken out against the sentencing, and a rally was recently held in Philly in protest of Meek's sentencing and biases in the criminal justice system.
