As part of the "Geaux South" program, the Department of Transportaion and Development is notifying drivers of some majo changes along the U.S. 90 corridor in Broussard.

The DOTD will be permanently closing the left turn lane of U.S. 90 West at its intersection with Celebrity Drive. The closure will begin at 8 p.m. tonight.

In addition, U.S. 90 will be reduced to one lane in the area from 8 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. tomorrow morning to allow crews to restripe the lanes at the intersection.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening U.S 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection.

The project will also construct an overpass along U.S. 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in mid-2017.
