The Danity Kane reunion was short-lived. The girl group has officially called it quits for a second time, and this one sounds like it’s for good!

The confirmation of the band’s split comes just days after TMZ reported that bandmates Aubrey O’Day and Dawn Richard got into a physical altercation in the studio on Monday, Aug. 4.

Aubrey and third member Shannon Bex posted a document on Danity Kane’s Twitter with notes from themselves as individuals and a note written as a pair. There’s no statement or announcement included from Dawn, who allegedly threw a punch at Aubrey when a verbal argument became heated.

“During a recent group meeting,” Aubrey wrote in the doc, “a business conversation took a turn for the worst when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate. To be clear, she was not physically engaged or threated prior to her attack on me. … I cannot condone or excuse any form of physical violence, particularly at the hands of someone I considered family. Disagreements happen. But a war of words and ideas should never end in physical aggression.”

She continued, “It was my goal to prove that with enough understanding the issues behind the scenes could be resolved, and we could continue to create content for one of the most inspiring fan bases I have ever witnessed. I realize now that in order to achieve that reality all three girls would have to want that. And, unfortunately, only two of us put our solo ambitions and lives to a halt and consistently put the team first.”

Aubrey and Shannon went on to thank all of the DK fans who supported their reunion -- first announced a year ago at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards -- and who stuck by them throughout the years.

“We know it must be devastating for our fans to have spent the last twelve months supporting our every move, and for that we cannot apologize enough,” the collective letter reads.

The singers also confirm that their comeback album is fully complete, but there’s no additional mention on whether or not it will be released.
