Eat Lafayette, the annual event for foodies, asked if I could stop by Prejean's and sample some of the great food, including their award winning gumbo and more. My reply, 'When?'

Prejean's, conveniently located on the service road of I-49 just past the Gloria Swith exit, has been a Cajun culinary institution for over 30 years featuring the flavors of south Louisiana. From traditional dishes including gumbo and boiled crawfish to specialty items like the Crab Cakes Covington, Catfish Catahoula and more, there's something for everyone.

Eat Lafayette Special - Free cup of Gumbo with entree purchase

I got to sample the award winning gumbo, which is the Eat Lafayette special. All you have to do is mention Eat Lafayette and you'll get a cup of their gumbo for free, with the purchase of any entree. I highly recommend the Asian Pan Grilled Catfish, and if you watch the video, you'll see how it's put together. Finish off with a delicious bread pudding or other sweet treats, it'll be nap time before you know it.

Don't forget to register to win a trip for two to the Caribbean from Travel Machine and Lafayette Travel, and be sure to visit all the participating restaurants for Eat Lafayette 2014 by visiting their website here.
