You don’t have to wait until later tonight to begin saying goodbye to David Letterman (though if you’re like us, you’ve already started that process) — you can do it right now. The venerable, longtime Late Show host is ending his 33-year run with tonight’s episode, which promises to be a fantastic, hilarious and appropriately heartwarming sendoff. But before we get to that, you can watch Letterman’s final Late Show entrance right now.

The official video was released on the Late Show With David Letterman YouTube page, and features the late night host’s final entrance. There’s a bit of a delay, a moment to take in what’s about to happen before Letterman finally graces the stage. That pause is powerful, letting us prepare ourselves to soak in the host’s final walk onto that famous stage.

The video ends just after Letterman takes the stage, greeting a warm and adoring crowd — so you don’t get any of his opening monologue, but it’s enough to bring a smile to your face.

We’re looking forward to tonight’s Letterman finale, and in the meantime, you can read our own Matt Singer’s tribute to the iconic Late Show host. And maybe take this time to run out to the store for a pack of tissues. You’ll need them.
