A dead woman's will in Indiana calls for her 9-year-old German Shepherd to be put down and then to be buried with her. However, her wish has hit some serious opposition from outsiders.

Connie Lay, who died last month, outlined in her will that she wanted her dog to be put down, cremated, and then buried with her if her friend could not care for it. Since her death, there has been a public outcry, mainly on Twitter, to save the pup's life. Sadly, the dog was scheduled to be put down yesterday, Tuesday.

Reports out indicate that Lay's estate did seek to send the dog to a no-kill sanctuary in Utah, but it appears that the effort may have failed.

The deceased woman's attorney says that he will honor his client's wishes and that outsiders should have no influence on his client's final wishes.

What do you think about this woman's final wishes? Should her dog, which doesn't seem to have any serious medical issues at this time, be put to sleep or should the dog still have the right to live? Tell us in the comment section below.
