Yesterday (July 9), the Human Rights Campaign posted a video from pop star Demi Lovato, who has recorded a PSA in support of Americans for Marriage Equality on their behalf.

In the 45-second video, Lovato states, "I believe that love comes in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors. So whether you're LGBT or straight, your love is valid, beautiful and an incredible gift. So let's protect love and strengthen the institution of marriage by allowing loving, caring and committed same sex couples to legally marry."

"Please join me and a majority of American citizens who support marriage equality," she concludes.

Lovato is no stranger to fighting LGBT rights: In May 2014, the singer was named LA Pride Parade Grand Marshal and performed at the NYC Pride Week as well.

Other philanthropic endeavors Lovato has supported include many anti-bullying initiatives, including the 'Love is Louder' campaign targeted at teen girls, and Secret's 'Mean Stinks,' which discourages girl-to-girl bullying.
