Desiigner pays a visit to the 88Rising studios for an interview and freestyle. The "Panda" rapper discusses his style of music, how he met Kanye West, and his affinity for "real" chinese food.

The 2016 XXL Freshman gives a riveting performance of "Zombie Walk" and explains the meaning behind it. Desiigner says, "My friend, who’s on the feature named King Savage, he’s handicap. He walks a little funny so when I made the song I was boosting his information. I made that for him. It don’t matter how you walk."

"Zombie Walk" is track No. 13 off Desiigner's debut mixtape New English, which dropped in June, though it had been posted to SoundCloud months earlier. Watch him perform the track up above and speak on his musical influences. If you'll remember, Kanye initially reached out to the Brooklyn musician for a verse on Life of Pablo. The G.O.O.D. artist recalls that first encounter, saying, "Meeting Kanye was a blessing, man. I was cooking’ up and I just got the drop, somebody gave me the word."

As far as the freestyle, Desiigner uses his signature ad-libs and creative delivery, shouting out his "China people" in the process.

In other Desiigner-related news, the 18-year-old performed "Timmy Turner" live at the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards yesterday (Oct. 4). The rapper was backed by a choir as he sang the eerie lyrics. “Timmy, Timmy, Timmy Turner/He was wishin’ for a burner/To kill everybody walkin’/He knows that his soul in the furnace,” he spits.

If you can't get enough Desiigner, check out his recent mini-documentary released through Def Jam. “Did I always want to be a rapper? Nah,” he says in the brief clip. “I always seen myself as being an artist. Being able to create things and put things out there for people to enjoy and people to watch was just always me. And it’s love, I love it.” In a dope twist, Alicia Keys made her own version of "Timmy Turner," as well. She changed "Timmy" to "Tiny" and incorporated her trademark piano.
