Disney's California Adventure theme park announced that the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride will be checking out on January 2nd.

I'm not going to lie, an audible "Nooooo!" came out of me when I read the news on Facebook today. The Tower of Terror ride is my all time favorite Disney ride! My high school chorus trip was to Disney World my junior year and I went on that ride more times than I can count. Ugh, the memories.

Ok, fine, I'm being a little dramatic, but I was really sad about the whole thing when I saw it pop up in my "trending" section on Facebook. But as I've done more research I have learned that only the Tower of Terror in Disney's California Adventure is closing, which means the Tower of Terror ride in Disney World's Hollywood Studios (which used to be MGM Studios) is still there, so I can calm down at least a little bit.

The good news about this sad, sad day is that the January closing of the ride is to make room for a new Guardians of the Galaxy themed ride "Mission: Breakout". The picture above of "Mission: Breakout" was debuted at Comic-Con in July when the new ride was announced.

I'll be sad to see you go Tower of Terror, but I can't lie to you, I'm all sorts of excited for Mission: Breakout. I'm having trouble keeping my emotions in check right now.
