The Detroit Pistons may have been one of the few teams to upset Steph Curry and his Warriors, but DJ Mustard has decided to even the score against the Motor City in a positive manner. The superstar producer has announced he will match Big Sean's $10,000 donation to the ongoing water crisis in Flint, Mich.

#HealFlintKids fundraiser is an offshoot of Big Sean's charitable organization, The Sean Anderson Foundation, which benefits the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan’s Flint Child Health & Development Fund.

“As a father of two kids, the tragedy in Flint, Michigan hit home for me,” says DJ Mustard. “Shout out to Big Sean for starting this viral campaign. I hope my donation can encourage others to step up for an important cause.”

DJ Mustard is the latest hip-hop personality to step up to the plate and put his money where his heart is, proving that hip-hop remains a springboard for social change. In addition to Mustard and Sean, other stars that have donated to the water crisis include Michigan natives Eminem, as well as Diddy, The Game, Wiz Khalifa, and Meek Mill, among others.

News outlet Al Jazeera first reported on the Flint water crisis in April of last year, but the cries for relief have become deafening in recent weeks, resulting in a string of charitable efforts in support of the cause. While a long-term solution has yet to proposed, figures like Mustard and his contemporaries' contributions could make a huge different and put the pressure on other rap stars to give back to the community.
