DMX finally took a step forward in the right direction as he appeared at his latest court date. The "X Gon Give it to Ya" rapper and his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, arrived in court on Thursday (Jan. 14) together and being cordial with each other.

According to Bossip, the two agreed to share their financial information and start the process to determine how to split martial wealth and how much child support will be paid. If the two can't come to an agreement though, the case will go to trial in April for a judge to decide what's what.

X and the mother of four of his children have a month to hand over all of their financial documents including assets and property information. Considering that the two were married for 14 years before filing for divorce, it'll surely be a lot to sift through.

DMX missed his last court date in October, which ended up in a warrant for his arrest. The 45-year-old told the judge that he was setting up live shows to earn income to start paying back what he owes.

However, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has a different judge presiding over this case though and the new guy isn't having any more excuses. “Mr. Simmons, given your track record, you have to make all your court appearances,” said Judge John Colangelo. “You’re still subject to a contempt warrant. You’re still subject to be incarcerated.”

"Yes sir," responded X.

Afterwards the "Get it on the Floor" rapper was nearly mum when a Bossip reporter asked him how the case went.

“It went well,” he said. “Glory be to God.”

Glory indeed.
