Drake is kicking off 2014 with his new position as the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador. The NBA has announced that the rapper and team will join forces for "Drake Night" on Jan. 11.

Hip Hop DX reports that the event will feature limited edition T-shirts -- in conjunction with the 'Nothing Was the Same' creator's OVO (October's Very Own) Sounds label. A special halftime set by the MC's tour DJ, Future the Prince, is planned as well.

It's unclear whether Drake himself will be in attendance or not during the evening's festivities for the home team's game against the visiting Brooklyn Nets. With a night dedicated in his honor, it's more than likely he'll perform during halftime.

The Star in Toronto also adds that the Raptors are contemplating changing their uniform colors to black and gold to match OVO's colors of choice.

Last year, Drizzy was named the team's global ambassador. The 'Trophies' rhymer is said to be heavily involved with the team's rebranding efforts for their 20th anniversary in the 2014-15 season.
