D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” Featuring Lil Yachty Goes Five Times Platinum
D.R.A.M.‘s major hit record “Broccoli” has been making some huge milestones for the Virginia rapper, and now he can add another one to the list. The former No. 1 Billboard single that features Lil Yachty has just become certified five times platinum by the RIAA, which comes almost exactly a year after the song’s release.
While the song originally went platinum back in September 2016, the track has now sold 5 million certified units according to the RIAA’s official website. We also recently reported that “Broccoli” went four times platinum back in February. At the time, the song was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards, which they unfortunately lost to Drake for his “Hotline Bling” smash hit.
While he didn’t directly react to the news, D.R.A.M. did retweet the achievement from another source, and then put out of a series of tweets regarding his collaborations with other artists.
“Honey, S/O to all of the amazingly talented people that I’ve worked with. It’s still mind blowing to me,” he tweeted.
This is a major accomplishment for the rhymer, and comes just in time after his debut album, Big Baby D.R.A.M., just reached certified gold status with the RIAA.
While we’re not sure what’s up next for him, he was recently spotted in the studio with both producers Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker, where they played around on some instruments. We’ll just have to wait and see what the trio might have cooked up, but for now, D.R.A.M. can bask in all of his major success.
