Last week multiple reports stated that some employers were asking job applicants to fork over their Facebook login information. Basically, they were being asked to supply their password to the social media site, giving their employer full access to their private messages, friends lists and any other information associated with their Facebook profile, as a requirement to get the job they were applying for.Facebook's chief privacy officer, Erin Egan, recently spoke out on the issue releasing an official statement on behalf of Facebook.

If you are a Facebook user you should never have to share your password, let anyone access your account, or do anything that might jeopardize the security of your account or violate the privacy of your friends...As a user, you shouldn’t be forced to share your private information and communications just to get a job.

She also mentioned that if this continues, Facebook will look into pursuing legal action. So put that in your back pocket for your next potential job interview. No one wants to go to court with Mark Zuckerberg. I've seen 'The Social Network,' I know these things.

Is there a salary that would make you comfy with handing over your FB info? If so, how much? Comment now!
