These days, everyone and their grandmother and pet hamster have Facebook. And most people would agree that the best use for the social networking site is passive stalkage of exes, frenemies and coworker crushes. So naturally, those fun killers at Facebook have decided to shut that business down.

What began innocently enough -- allowing people to see who had posted notices in groups and events -- is slowly allowing users to track their searches on the website.

But don't panic yet -- Facebook is claiming that this information is only disseminated on a user's activity log, and this information is kept private. FOR NOW.

Starting today, in addition to your other activity, you'll be able to see the searches you're making on Facebook. Just as you can choose to delete any of your posts, you can use the same inline control on Activity Log to remove any of your searches at any time. It's important to remember that no one else can see your Activity Log, including your search activity."

So take this as a fair warning. Even if Facebook doesn't choose to publish this information, to say, the guy in marketing you've been eyeing for weeks hoping his relationship status changes to single, they can. Also, they know way too much about you already.
