The families of Alton Sterling and Montrell Jackson came together at the scene where three Baton Rouge area officers were shot to pray for peace.

Both families are currently mourning the loss of loved ones, but they have more than just than in common. All of the family members want PEACE in their community.

The two families met where Jackson was gunned down early Sunday morning and prayed for there to be peace. Jackson, who was a veteran with the Baton Rouge Police Dept., expressed concern for his community following the shooting of Alton Sterling.

The group prayed not only for peace, but for all of the officers involved in the recent shootout.

This is what unity looks like, let's just hope that we see more of this in the near future. For these two families to join hands may just be the beginning of something really powerful.
