Fire At Two Ridge Road Businesses, One Person Dead In Car Inside

Fire investigators found a body in a car in a business on fire on Ridge Road this morning. Lafayette firefighters along with multiple other agencies had to be called out to get a blaze under control early this morning at Advanced Radiographics on Ridge Road.

The first three firefighting groups from Lafayette, Judice and Scott had to call out additional crews from Broussard, Carencro and Youngsville.

The fire then spread from the medical records facility to Murf's Cabinets which is next door.

Advanced Radiographics stores medical records, and the numerous boxes of condensed storage made it very difficult for the firefighters to battle the blaze.

When firefighters finally got the fire under control they found a car inside of Advanced Radiographics.  Investigators say they don't know how or why the car was in the building, but they are continuing to work on the investigation.
