A Florida mom is under investigation for posting a video to Facebook showing her daughter being bitten by a snake.

The mother's identity was not revealed, but WFTS in Tampa says she let the snake bite her one-year-old child because she thought it was "harmless"

It had bitten me and my son and didn't leave a mark, several times, so, I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce her without actually getting hurt.

The snake seen in the video is a Red Ratsnake, also known as Red Cornsnakes, and are non-venomous snakes that are capable of growing up to six feet in length.

The mom said she believes it is important for her kids to "learn how to deal with wild animals," but the video was pulled after receiving immediate backlash online. The mom says people are "too sensitive" and people who know her know that she would never harm her kids.

Regardless of what the mom thinks, the Highlands County Sheriff's Office is now investigating.
