24-year-old Tahj Jones, a former LSU linebacker who ran drills at last week's Pro Day, is in serious condition after taking a bullet in the abdomen Friday night. The shot was allegedly fired by another former LSU football player, 36-year-old Brandon Winey.

According to our news partners at KATC and the Associated Press, it happened at a woman's apartment complex, a woman that both men had went to visit. Sulphur Police Chief Lewis Coats says Winey showed up at the apartment after Jones did, then shot him during a fight.

Jones is recovering from surgery at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria after the woman drove him to West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.

Winey faces attempted murder charges and sits in the Sulphur Jail on a $1 million bond.
