Over 150 Former Oil + Gas Workers Hired At New Lafayette Costco Location [VIDEO]

Nearly 200 former oil & gas workers who were out of a job have found new employment thanks to the new Costco opening up in Lafayette.

According to KLFY, Costco received over 7,000 applications over the last few months during construction. Costco GM Greg Brenner says the Lafayette location has hired nearly 200 workers who were previously in the oil field.

The store anchors the new Ambassador Town Center and many anticipate their opening. Costco, often compared to 'Walmart's reputation for "low prices" and Target's for selling "cheap chic,"' is a membership-only retail club with just about anything you can imagine under one roof.

The Lafayette Costco location is set to open March 17, 2016.
