Former Louisiana' Ragin' Cajun standout running back Elijah McGuire scored his first NFL touchdown last Sunday.

Now a member of the New York Jets, McGuire broke loose, and scored on a long 69-yard touchdown run in a 23-20 overtime win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

 

A native of Houma, and a graduate of Vandebilt High School, McGuire, who was drafted in the 6th round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Jets, finished with 93 yards, a career-high, on 10 carries.

For the season, McGuire has accumulated 156 yards on 23 carries, to go along with three receptions for 45 yards.

The second all-time leading rusher in UL school history, McGuire tallied 4,202 career rushing yards, between 2013-2016.

In addition, McGuire also finished as the school career leader in all-purpose yards (5,858 yards),  touchdowns (52) and scoring (318 points).
