Frank Ocean Releases New Single ‘Sweet Life’, Performing on ‘Jimmy Fallon’

Frank Ocean certainly had one busy week. After posting an open letter about his sexuality on his Tumblr blog, the R&B singer posted a new song called ‘Sweet Life’ from his upcoming new album ‘Channel Orange.’

The song was written by Ocean and co-produced by Pharrell Williams. The jazzy-soul ballad flows like a summer breeze with its keyboard riffs and bubbling bass grooves.

“Keeping it surreal / Not sugar-free / My TV ain’t HD, that’s too real / Grapevine, mango, peaches and lime / The sweet life,” sings Ocean.

In addition to his sweet song (excuse the pun), Ocean will make his network television debut with a performance on NBC’s ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon‘ on Monday night (July 9). There’s no word on what song he will perform with house band the Roots. It would be a major coup for Jimmy Fallon if he could get the singer on the couch to discuss his eventful week and the outpouring of support from his fans.

Ocean’s ‘Fallon’ appearance comes one year after Odd Future made its late-night network debut on the show. The group performed ‘Sandwitches‘ and went bonkers in studio 6B.

Since Ocean’s revelation, Tyler, the Creator has been very supportive and revealed that he already knew of the singer’s bisexuality. The music industry also saluted the young crooner and offered words of encouragement on Twitter.

Frank Ocean’s debut album ‘Channel Orange’ will hit stores on July 17.
