French Montana’s activism is finally paying off. The altruistic rhymer was named Global Citizen Ambassador at a ceremony in New York on Friday (Jan. 26).

French was recognized for his ongoing charity work in Uganda via his Mama Hope Initiative. The campaign was launch after he shot the “Unforgettable” video with Swae Lee in Uganda. The clip has garnered over 600 million views on YouTube.

So far, French has contributed over $100,000 to help build a hospital that focuses on maternity care for women in the Ugandan region. His boss Diddy recently added $200,000 to his humanitarian cause.

French went on his Instagram page to thanked the Global Citizen organization for the honor. In the photo, appears to be signing something.

"This probably means the most to me...#blessed to be able to help others that in need," he wrote in the caption. "Thank you to @glblctzn for making me the first rap Ambassador globally. Now I can really start my mission helping kids and women cross the world."

French also plans to provide global assistance to his homeland of Morocco. He just dropped a video for "Famous," where he take viewers on a picturesque journey of his Moroccan roots.
