Everyone has been screaming "Free Gucci" since he was incarcerated in 2013. Recently, a glimmer of hope regarding his release came through the form of Mike WiLL Made-It's tweet and DJ Bankhead's Instagram post, stating that Gucci Mane was on his way out. Unfortunately, Guwop's lawyer, Drew Findling, debunked those rumor while speaking with MTV News pertaining to his client's potential release.

“We do not know where that rumor came from, so that’s just internet and social media fabrication,” he said. “We have no idea where that release date came from because we’re still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date.”

Fans were jubilant when rumors of a possible July 11 release was revealed. Despite Findling shutting down the rumors, he did acknowledge that he is working diligently on getting Gucci out.

“I can’t get into specifics, but we’re in the midst of corresponding with the Bureau of Prisons,” he said. “I’m trying to iron out a specific release date for him, but that I can tell you that is not his release date. There’s nothing formal about that. It’s a product of social media.”

Atlanta DJ, Bankhead shared a photo of Gucci on Instagram with the caption, "“JULY 11 MY HOMIE BACK IN THE STREETS SALUTE,” this week. But, unfortunately, those claims are now apparently false.

Keep you head up Gucci.
