Kanye West's meeting with Donald Trump sent the hip-hop world into a frenzy, as rappers including YG, A$AP Ferg and Nipsey Hussle made their opinions known on social media.

While YG and Nipsey had negative reactions to West's meet-up with the President-Elect of the United States, Ferg had a different view on things. "I think @kanyewest was right today for meeting up with trump !!!,” the A$AP Mob member wrote. “You need to know where this man head is at !!! He rules your nation. I think @kanyewest is smarter than we think he is, he’s getting closer to trump so he can get more insight on his plans!!! ur take?…U never know what a conversation can do. Y’all [are] free to think whatever y’all want about Trump or @Kanye I was just giving you my take on it. Ye is strategic not dumb.”

Meanwhile, Kanye's fellow G.O.O.D. Music labelmate John Legend had an interview with French media outlet Clique. “I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to [Donald Trump] about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt,” Legend said. “I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”

West himself offered an explanation on Twitter, writing, “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues. These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.” You can view the rest of the reactions below.

RZA is supporting Kanye West's move to meet with President-elect Donald Trump. "That's positive," the Wu-Tang Clan leader says while walking through an airport. "If Trump is the president, nah mean, we gon' have to talk with him, deal with him, build with him... make sure that some of the things he's dealing is reflected in our communities. If Kanye is willing to speak for our community, bong, bong."
