With frozen precipitation expected Friday, garbage and recycling collection throughout Acadiana will be delayed until any hazardous road conditions have improved.

“The decision to delay the start of collection routes was made simultaneously by both companies in consideration of public safety,” according to the Environmental Quality Manager with Lafayette Consolidated Government, Mark Pope.

Customers served by Allied Waste and the Recycling Foundation should expect waste collection later in the day than normal. If there are any homes that don't receive garbage and recycling service on Friday, will get it on Saturday.
