Lafayette City Police Chief Jim Craft will retire on January 31 and an interim Chief has been named. At a press conference at City Hall today Mayor-President Joel Robideaux named Reginald Thomas as interim chief. Thomas has served as an officer for more than 20 years and he will serve until a permanent replacement is found. LCG will conduct a nationwide search to find a permanent chief to replace Jim Craft who will assume the position of Executive Director of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
